It was established in the year 1882 by the missionaries of the Methodist Episcopal Church. The church was originally just known as Methodist Church, Secunderabad. This original church structure was demolished and replaced by a newer structure and the church was then renamed the Millenium Methodist Church. The South India Conference of the Methodists was also held in Hyderabad in 1884.〔(【引用サイトリンク】title=Church History )〕 Two years earlier, a small chapel with a red brick exterior built was erected in the city of Secunderabad, a few blocks west of the Secunderabad Clock Tower, a local landmark. This church is the precessor of the much larger Millenium Methodist Church that stands today on the same spot. The old church was demolished at the turn of the millennium to make way for a larger structure in order to accommodate the increasing number Methodists in the city.
